What it is:
The Grinberg method is devoted to the relationship between physicality and internalized behaviors. The holistic approach to teaching and learning method provides for opportunities to reduce physical discomfort and restrictive patterns of behavior.
Physical symptoms and undesirable behaviors are often the result of automatisms, which were eintrainiert over time and are usually not consciously perceived. We tend to always assume the same posture to face a certain way of our environment and to breathe in a certain way. Behavior patterns, Thoughts and feelings - that the whole of living - are found physically manifested again. Expression of this repetitive use of the body often symptoms such as headaches and muscle tension or in restlessness and poor concentration.
The Grinberg method allows the physical basis of these symptoms differentiated exercise. Means of contact, description, movement and breathing exercises focused attention on the body. Through a structured training of body awareness is aware of how in certain situations, breathing and physical flexibility, thus the entire presence is limited. The trained attention to the use of the body allows for greater variation of function and behavior patterns. So far, self-running patterns (eg stress responses) can be understood in very practical ways and changed, physical symptoms are thus reduced or abolished.
The increased awareness can also connections between physical processes and emotional states stand out clearly, feelings and expectations are consciously perceived in its physical expression. The body serves here as a framework to bring about desired changes. The spectrum of behaviors is extensible, personal qualities and skills (re) discovered and encouraged.
Learning with and through the body allows a direct experience of internalized experience and behavior. The individually designed learning process puts you in the position to deal with physically manifested discomfort to deal responsibly and constructively to stop limiting behavior patterns and to develop personal potentials.
What it is:
▫ The Grinberg Method is not a substitute for medical treatment
▫ The Grinberg method has no mystical or religious background. It has no ideological references and also occurs not for a certain lifestyle.
not
▫ The Grinberg method gives the "correct" use of the body and no "correct" posture. Goal instead is to replace the restrictive attitudes and behavior patterns by alternative reactions.
The process:
The teaching and learning process within the Grinberg method takes place in a succession of several work sessions in which clients and practitioners together on an agreed goal.
At the beginning there is a detailed foot analysis, revealing the habitual use the body is. This is the basis for a discussion of physical symptoms, personal qualities and changing needs of the client. In the course of this analysis, the goal of the learning process is defined. The subsequent trial session on practical exercises are an indication of the operation of the method.
Already this first session allows new knowledge about the physical reactions and their relationships, also it serves the mutual acquaintance. If a common agreed process shall take place after one to two times a week sessions. In this work towards the personal focus that the client has chosen as the theme of the process.
The learning process within the Grinberg method takes place in one-on-one sessions, each lasting an hour. The number of sessions depends on the objectives of the client and the degree of attention he / she has for her own body.
